Memorandum of Bullion from the Savage Mining Company Assayed at the Gould & Curry Assay Office. Shows five bars made from deposits from two mills. From the DeLands Mill, three bars of bullion totaling 3,160 oz., each .950 fineness silver. From the Woodworth Mill, two bullion bars totaling nearly 3,000 ounces, also .952 fineness with trace gold. Signed by Gideon E. Moore as assayer who was nationally known for his expertise in the subject. Moore (1842-1895) worked mostly with the Passaic Zinc Company (1872-1895), and named brushite, chalcophanite, cryptokallite, hetaerolite, and the first natural occurrence of metacinnabarite. Printed on blue paper by JP LeCount & Co., S.F. 10" x 17" with three folds and some wear on center fold. With the Moore signature, two famous Comstock mines, and two mills, this is a great piece for Comstock collectors. DeLands Mill was located in Sixmile Canyon and had 15 stamps. The Woodworth Mill was located on the NW bank of the Carson River near Dayton. Date: Location: Virginia City, Nevada HWAC# 50953
