Lot of 3 Gould & Curry checks issued in 1866 and signed by Louis Janin as supt. Two are to OHP Culbertson and one to John Tailleur. Culbertson was a prominent lumber dealer and proprietor of the Four Mile House on Geiger Grade. Tailleur was an old resident of Dayton. Given that two of these checks are consecutive and for similar amounts, we believe Tailleur was also a lumber merchant. Neither is in Collins Comstock directory.
