Number 254 for 50 shares to George Miller. Datelined Virginia 1863. Signed by Secretary CG Fink (Deputy Clark of Storey County) and president A Winton. Incorporated in January 7, 1863 (early 1863). Location at Virginia District, Storey Co., N. T. Enterprise Print. Small eagle vignette on left. Not cancelled. 25c Warehouse Revenue Stamp. One small stain below the 'a' in 'and'. Really nice example!!! Winton's first official record was on 2/19/1860 in the Utah Territory. He was among the first officers of the Nevada Territory appointed by Governor Nye. In 1865 he was a state senator from Storey County. In July of 1863 the Virginia Evening Bulletin reported that some very fine looking rock was taken from this mine. However, the mine does not appear in Collins 1864 Directory? Additional notes on Winton and the mine.
