Hollister discusses a Grass Valley Bar being located on South Clear Creek, 20 miles above Golden City (1867, pg. 70). An 1874 notice in the Daily Colorado Miner warns anyone from trespassing upon the land, mines, flumes, ditches, water power, and improvements of the Grass Valley Mining Company of Clear Creek County, John Scudder as agent.
