Oullahan was the mining superintendent. He was president of the Gold Hill Broom Rangers – they were supporters of General McClellan for President over Abraham Lincoln during his re-election bid. They got that name as they would parade through the streets with brooms over their shoulders. The Green Gold and Silver Mining Company was active until at least 1872. They levied at least 9 assessments!
