The only two different Green River embossed drug bottles. J.W. and C.G. Hawk, 6", Blue Ribbon style, 4oz, clear, near mint; Campbell's Drug Store, 3 7/8", clear, near mint also Blue Ribbon, 1oz. Hawk moved to Green River in 1897 to be general surgeon for the UPRR and OSL railroads. He must have decided that Green River needed a drug store, and opened this one which ran into the 1920's, according to Borton in his Wyoming Bottle Book . Campbell's drug store is exceptionally notable. This store was run by a female pharmacist, c1894-1910, Mrs. H.H. Campbell. Green River is well known as a coal producing region, as well as oil exploration and the location of massive fish fossil beds known to collectors throughout the world.
