Inc. in Michigan, 1884. No. 179, issued for 1,000 shares to August Henrickson on January 11th, 1907 in Marquette, Michigan. Signed by president George Grummett and asst. secretary JB Grummett. Not cancelled. Black border and print, small vignette with state seal, mining scene, and ship on water. Printed by Mining Journal Print, Marquette. Deep folds, light toning. 7 x 9.75" According to E&MJ (Vol. 38, 1884), the company had 267.5 acres, five veins, situated several miles from Michigamme. In 1906, "the Grummett Gold and Silver Mining Company was still in existence and proposing to renew its explorations on its Michigamme prospect. George Grummett and his sons returned to the prospect and reopened the three old shafts, which had been flooded for years. Grummett was able to clean out the shafts, each of which was about 16 feet deep, and take samples of the ore in the vein. With specimens of free gold on display, the Grummett company offered the property for sale at a reasonable price, but no buyers came forward, and the prospect was again abandoned. In 1913, the property was sold, and no further work was done."[Ref:http://geo.msu.edu/extra/geogmich/gold.html]_x000D_ City: Michigamme State: Michigan Date: 1907
