Lot of 9 different passes issued 1880-1912. Years included: 1880, 1883 (signed by John Sealy), 1886, 1889, 1890, 1895, 1901, 1904, and 1912. All printed on cardstock (varying colors). Chartered in 1873 by Galveston citizens who wanted to create a rail line that would cross Texas, bypass Houston and eventually reach Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ultimately, it went North. With a partnership with the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe, it connected to Purcell, Oklahoma. ATSF were trying to break Jay Gould's ever-growing control of the rail system in Northern Texas. ATSF eventually took over the line. (Prag Collection) City: State: Texas Date: Inventory# 41029
