This casting is of a buttblate for a large bore dangerous game rifle. The casting is almost 5 in. long indicating a large frame gun. The buttplate is the shotgun shape to help distribute the recoil over a larger area. The engraving is of "SIMBA" a Swahili name for the lion. The work is attributed to FEGA member, Jim Blair, who used the bulini and banknote style engraving for this work. The screws have also been engraved for the completed took. Please see photos for details.
