A typed letter signed by baseball commissioner Kenesaw Montain Landis and written to Cincinnati Baseball Club Vice President Warren Giles with regards to the printing of press tickets for the 1939 World Series between the Reds and New York Yankees. The Commissioner is saying that he has copied Barrow (Business manager of the Yankees) saying that the same conditions should be printed on both team's tickets and that he'd like two sets of proofs for said tickets for his approval before they are printed.
Landis became the first commissioner of baseball in 1920, after the 1919 Black Sox scandal and held that office until his death in 1944. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1944 by the Old Timers' Committee. Please see photos for more details. Chicago Illinois
