Real Photo Postcard showing Cleveland Indian Hall of Famer purchasing a $1,000 Liberty Bond from The Secretary of the Treasury (And President Woodrow Wilson's son-in-law), William Gibbs McAdoo at a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio. It also appears that President Wilson is seated on the bandstand to the left. Tristram Edgar Speaker, nicknamed "the Gray Eagle", was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a center fielder from 1907 to 1928. Considered one of the greatest players in the history of Major League Baseball, he compiled a career batting average of .345.
