Samuel E. Crawford autograph cut signed when he was a teammate with Ty Cobb on the Detroit Tigers (1903-1917). Crawford still holds the record for most career triples (309). Crawford later became the baseball coach at the University of Southern California (1924-1929).
Being from Wahoo, Nebraska, Crawford almost always signed his name Wahoo Sam Crawford or Sam Wahoo Crawford, which makes this signature even rarer, as the Wahoo is omitted, in favor of putting " Detroit Ball Club" below the signature.
