This Hall carbine chambered in .58 caliber has a 18 1/2 in. barrel with 2 bands. It is stamped 1852 on the receiver. Marked "S. North Middleton, Conn." It is in excellent condition with some handling wear. The initials "MB" is carved on the right side of the stock presumably by a previous owner. Metals show a grey patination. A slide bar saddle ring is functional. No visible serial numbers. An ordinance inspector's initials (WAT) William Anderson Thornton, is stamped in the cartouche on the right side of the stock at the receiver. The Hall rifle has a unique front opening breach for loading that predates any metallic cartridge gun of the Civil War. This is your chance to own a piece of fine and rare firearms Americana.

This gun is an antique and no attempt has been made to fire this gun to confirm its mechanical integrity. Nor should this gun be fired without the examination by a qualified gunsmith. Any attempt to fire an antique gun is at the risk of the owner and not consistent with the value of the firearm.
