An ulu knife is an all-purpose knife traditionally used by Inuit, Yupik, and Aleut women. (Translates to woman's knife.) This blade is hand-hammered copper. Most likely the copper came from the Copper River area. The tang set directly into a what appears to be a wood or bone (musk ox?) handle. Date: Location: Alaska HWAC # 131313
