"Pioneer District, Pinal County, Arizona" (printed at bottom center). Inc. 1881. No. 85, issued for 500 shares to EL Boles in 1882. Signed by vice president Martin and secretary Mann. Not cancelled. Interesting underprint design. Pinholes, creases. The town of Superior was originally named "Queen." Later it was renamed "Hastings" after this prominent mine. Finally in 1900 the town gained its final name "Superior." Offices were on the corner of Montgomery and Sutter. Although we could find little information on this company, it does appear in McKenney's Pacific Coast Directory for 1884 with C. Mann as secretary. In the 1884 Langley's San Francisco Directory C. H. Mann is listed as the Manager of Hastings & Company. They were importers, manufacturers and retailers of clothing and gent's furnishing goods. Located on the corner of Montgomery and Sutter.
