Not many stocks from this area proclaim to be in Nevada. Most say Mono County, California or are just left blank. California had provided the officials, but in 1863 the area would be proven to be in Nevada. # 110 for 1 share to William Feast. Signed by secretary Feast and president M. R. Elstner. Dateline Aurora, Esmeralda, August 31, 1863. Incorporated September 26, 1862. Not cancelled. Allegorical vignette and steamship/ wharf/ phoenix/ globe/ etc. Towne & Bacon printer. Heavy center vertical fold with wrinkles and one discoloration spot by eagle. Other than a one week discrepancy in incorporation dates, I could find nothing about this mine. Feast was the first and only Mono County, California treasurer stationed at Aurora. When it was discovered Aurora was in Nevada, he continued as treasurer. Elstner was a true California 49er, Aurora mining operator and superintendent of the Morgan Mill on the Carson River. Notes on Feast and Elstner included.
