Ore specimens and rocks from Ott and John Heizer, mining engineers in Nevada, c 1908-1965. Most of these rocks, if not all, were unlabeled from the John Heizer estate. The collection includes: Smoky Quartz crystal, about 6" (probably from Incline, NV); two salt specimens; a group of about 20 ore specimens from metal mines, all unlabeled- includes silver and gold ores (no gold visible), copper (probably Robinson pit, Ely); large plate with barite (6 x 15"), beryl (emerald) in pegmatite; large partial crystalline plate of muscovite; large garnet, slab of malachite in quartz, etc. also has some of Heizer's tools- straight razor ans drafting set. Ott Heizer was a member of the first graduating class of Mackay School of Mines and manager of the Nevada-Massachusetts co. at Mill City.
