"With Spink and Son's respectful Compliments and thanks" Received from Henry Chapman Esq. cheque for L30, signed Wm Barnes for Spink & Son, Ltd. 17 & 18 Piccadilly, London, W. Dated 6 Nov. 1915. 4 1/2 x 7 " ivory stock, one penny receipt coupon attached. Henry Johnson (1859-1935) went to work with Captain John W. Haseltine in the coin business in Philadelphia in 1876, and by 1878 he cand his brother Samuel had opened their own shop. The Chapmans produced auction catalogs with photographic plates, extravagant for the time.
