No. 127, issued to Even Ashton for one share. Signed by Lorenzo Hamilton, President, and Samuel Davis, Secretary. Incorporated in California in 1855. Blue paper, no vignette, no printer indicated, 5X8 inches. Uncancelled. This mine was located in the early 1850's, was renamed the Talisman and even later would become a part of the Springhill Mine. It produced free gold quartz, averaging about one ounce per ton. In 1852, there were three arrastras and a 20-stamp mill in operation. The city of Herbertville, Amador County began in 1851 and was named after reverend Lemuel Herbert, who was an owner of Spring Hill Mine. One of the first Quartz Gold mines in California.
