Four hefty pieces of high-grade copper ore, primarily brassy chalcopyrite and purple-red bornite, from the Chino Mine near Silver City, New Mexico. One specimen is labeled "KCC" for Kennecott Copper Company, which sold the mine to Phelps-Dodge Corporation in the 1980s. Freeport-MacMoran purchased Phelps-Dodge in 2007. The largest specimen is about 7 x 4.5 x 1 inch and weighs about 725 grams, the next largest is about 5.5 x 4.5 x 1 inch and weighs about 635 grams. Third specimen is 3.5 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches and weighs 386 grams. Fourth is around 2.5 x 2 x 1.5 inches and weighs 139 grams.
