Copper oxide minerals are known for their rich green colors, and this 8.6 pound rock is covered with a blend of chrysocolla, malachite, and possible other copper minerals. The coating is rich in silica, giving a lustrous appearance to the piece. This is about 10.5 x 7 x 3.5 inches, and it sits up on its edge, making it a beautiful display piece. The specimen is unlabeled, but because it came with a number of specimens that originated from the Chino Mine, we attribute it to the same location in New Mexico.
