High-grade gold-telluride ore from the Florence Mine in Goldfield, Nevada, approximately 55 x 45 x 30 mm. Original collector identified this specimen as "birds-eye porphyry" with scattered Calaverite crystals, black tellurides, and pyrite in dense, blue-gray quartz, and a mined date of 1905. Flecks of black-silvery crystals and golden pyrite are visible under a hand lens. Mindat notes that tellurides are known to occur in the Goldfield Mining District in the distinctively named Goldfieldite, a copper-tellurium-sulfide.
