High-grade silver-lead ore from the Candelaria Mine, Mineral County, Nevada, approx 90 x 60 x 65 mm. Original collector noted the presence of cerrusite (lead carbonate) and anglesite (lead sulfate) and galena. A hand lens reveals the white crystals of the sulfate and carbonate along with shiny cubic faces of galena and dark silvery grey minerals that are probably argentite (silver sulfide). Yellow and orange iron oxides are also present in what appears to be a brecciated rhyolite. The specimen is quite dense for its size.
