Cover postmarked Highfield, (1898-1905). Interesting letter: He is writing to a Sallie, tells her he has not heard for her mother in a long time and misses news from home. "tell your mother if she don't write to me i will stop writing to any of the girls." Geo. H. Jacobs, her uncle, writes of the "vast wild and wooly country", the snow, how long the trip took from Emmetsburg (1080 miles), " I have seen more in the west than I would see in the East.
