Introduction to the Christmas 2020 Sale!

This sale features a number of important collections. The first is the Ken Prag “Industrial” stock certificate collection, a massive one of a kind collection of American Banks, industries and more. This is some of the last of the main-line Prag Collection, the rest coming in February/March, with duplicates coming later. Within this massive collection are some utterly fantastic sub-collections. Among these are Ken’s Banking collection, American Entertainment, Brewing, Telephone & Telegraph, Turnpikes, Firearms, Printing & Publishing collections and more. A few of these categories are so large that they are split between this December sale and the following sale in February/March of 2021.
Within these collections are pieces signed by famous Americans inclusive of Thomas Edison. The American Entertainment Collection is easily the best ever assembled collection of the history of motion pictures. Several hundred certificates document the financial history of the cinema and movie business from its infancy.

A major part of the all-important Prag Post Card Collection is also in this sale. Hundreds of lots of both themed post cards, such as vintage Christmas cards, as well as geographic gems from all over California. This offering has some of the most beautiful vintage post cards ever made, from artists such as Winsch to the incredible promotional “poster” cards of the Pan Pacific Expo in 1915.

The Paul Franklin Collection of California and Colorado will absolutely throw you into a tizzy. His Bodie mining stocks are among the best collection ever assembled. His California and Colorado mining photographs bare phenomenal. His collections of western assayer documents is also among the best ever. You’ll also see some great mining stocks from California and Colorado to go with the fantastic photos and assay certificates. But wait- there’s more! A great selection of California Gold Rush postal history supplements this group with a crowning glory- a group of 1850s illustrated letter sheets.

Our Railroad section is again full of original badges and passes. The Express section has a large collection of items.

There is such a wonderful variety of Americana that we’re sure you’ll find your own special items.
Don’t forget the Dealer/Bargain Section, where there are deals galore.
