An assortment of eight Holstein Brand (8) cow & goat bells from Blum Cowbell MFG.
The Blum Cowbell Factory in Collinsville was founded in about 1876 by Christian Gottlob Blum, who died in 1912. His son John Henry Blum, joined the business and operated it for 50 years. At the time of John’s death, the Blum Manufacturing Co. was one of three cow bell factories in the country. John Blum died in July 1935, leaving his wife, Martha, a son, John Henry Blum Jr., and d daughter, Mrs. William Blumberg. He was buried in the Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville. John Henry Blum Jr. continued the business until closing in 1956.
