This specimen is fascinating. It is one of three that Dave Shaddrick said contains a mineral they believed might be unique to the Homestake Mine, and thus they coined it "Homestakite." However, we are not able to locate any information about this online. It is possible that it was submitted for evaluation in the 1980s, and was found to be a known mineral. Or perhaps it was never formally submitted. Please see photos for dimensions.
