Three volumes of The Jockey Club's private publication. Two volumes published in 1944 covering 1665-1865, by John Hervey. The first race course was opened on Long Island in 1665, and the sport continues through today. Of a private printing of 800 copies, this is number 510. Illustrated with black and white plates, 10.5 x 13.25 inches, 325 & 416 pages. Brown paper covered boards, brown cloth spine, paper spine labels. One volume 1866-1921 by W. S. Vosburgh, published in 1922. Very good condition.
