Lot of 84. Images of racehorses, horse-drawn carriages, Clydesdales, horses owned by private citizens, etc,: Included are six undivided back cards (c. 1907-1908) including a Deeks & Co "puzzle" puzzle card displaying a cow's head or horse head depending upon how it's viewed. Also included is a leather card (c. 1905); Some 20 chromolithos (c. 1930s - 1940s) and 14 B&W photos are highlighted by a rare (c. early 1940s) RPC of Seabiscuit on the Ridgewood Ranch in Willits, CA where the famed racehorse was put out to stud after retiring in 1940 until his death in 1947; Complimenting Seabiscuit is a rare dye struck, pressed on cloth image of a cowboy dressed in Zouave colors (rich blue and red) riding a horse while roping a steer. Card is a chromolitho, divided back, postmarked 1909.
