Very rare $500 bond issued in 1882. Signed by president Robert Sewell and the secretary. Not cancelled. Green border and black print on pink paper. Mining and allegorical vignettes. Three coupons attached. Nice condition. The mine was located in Copper Gulch, Kerber Creek district, one-fourth mile from Bonanza, in Saguache County. The vein was located in 1881. A 200-pound shipment yielded $40,000 per ton. The claim was 1500 x 300 feet, developed by a shaft 101 feet deep with a sixty-six foot level (Corregan and Lingane, Colorado Mining Directory).
