Exceptionally rare; likely unique. Dateline Aurora, September 2nd, 1863. Issued to GN Baily for $100/ Signed by Graham. Black print on blue paper. 4 x 8" This full-service but short-lived bank began operation when Aurora was still believed to be in Mono County, California rather than in Esmeralda County, Nevada. To avoid any confusion no mention of either state is present on this promissory note. Sanchez was also partnered with Van Wyck in an assay business, and the two eventually relocated to the Comstock.
