Very large collection of 160 stores and mercantile stocks and bonds from the U.S., c1890-1960s. A wide variety. Some are issued, some blank, some specimens, some are canceled with stamps. Included are (some of the oldest): The Girard Mercantile Association, Girard, Illinois, No. 131, 5 shares issued in 1890 to M.A. Newell, signed by John Ball, president and George Ball, secretary, with company seal (chartered 1875), with ornate border, in fine condition with minor folds; Sioux City Dry Good Company, Iowa, unissued and blank with date 189_, No. 220, vignette of Sioux City and ornate border; National Mercantile Agency, New Jersey, No. 51, 5 shares issued in 1900 to Benj. F. Tracy, signed by John K. Ealy, president, and Treasurer, with company gold seal, ornate border, vignette copyrighted 1898 by A.B. King of eagle, telephone, telegraph machine, boat, cable car and bridge, ornate border, stamp, fine condition with two folds. See photo(s) for more details.
