1) Humboldt Consolidated G&S MC Stock, Santa Rosa MD; # 43 for 80 shares to William Anderson. Datelined Santa Rosa 1865. Signed by Thomas L Thompson secretary and William Harmer(?) president. Incorporated April 9, 1864. Allegorical Vignette. Sonoma County Democrat printer. Mines in the Santa Rosa Mining District, Humboldt Co., N. T. Mines listed on the certificate: Hickory, Daly Lode, Nile, Frost Lode, Cuba Lode, Bright Lead, John Ellise Star Lode, etc. About thirty mines and lode are mentioned!!! Assessments were due in June and September of 1864. [Sonoma County Democrat] The Santa Rosa District was located 25 miles north of Winnemucca in the Bloody Run Hills, the southeastern extension of the Santa Rosa Range. The district was called the Santa Rosa district in the 1860s. In the 1920's with a new strike it was called the Bloody Run district. Background note on Farmer, a true 49er, and newspaper reprint on the mine.
2) Shaw Gold & Silver MC Stock, Harmony & Sonoma MD, #15 for 10 shares to John B Henry. Datelined Santa Rosa 1865. Incorporated in the Nevada Territory on March 5, 1864, Signed by secretary William L Anderson and president Z Middleton. The stock lists twenty ledges, one tunneling claim and notes two locations for mill sites. This is a great stock just to collect these historic ledges. Printed by the Sonoma County Democrat. 25c Power of Att'y stamp upper left (with ripped corner). Heavy folds. Dog ears. Original trustees were FA Shaw, Z Middleton, L Carter, TJ Drennon and WL Anderson. Notes on Anderson, Middleton (Sonoma JofP - and this is in the Sonoma MD? Interesting!) and the mining district.
