This is a paperback book "Hunting in the Northwest" compliments of Farwell, Ozmun, Kirk & Co. of St. Paul, Minn. edited by C. J. Blanchard at 144 pages. The year was 1896; read about shooting techniques, the proper load for black powder shotgun shells, the proper leads for ducks, the best made hammerless guns. The first chapter describes a healthy young man anxious to be in the woods or on the water of any lake. As an older man, all he has to do is reflect on the time spent in the woods or on the water in his youth. All of this at the onset of hunting regulations and the need for wildlife conservation; a new concept. The book outlines access to the Northwest states by railway with stops and available game at each. Minnesota had a three week deer hunting season with a limit of five deer per hunter. You want those days back again. 5.5 in. X 8.5 in. detached front and back cover, good condition.
