Six framed pieces of ephemera and one unframed photograph related to hydraulic mining.
A) Hydraulic mining photograph that is unframed. The caption written on the backside reads, "Monitors in action, Malakoff Hydraulic Mine, North Bloomfield, California, taken during the early 1880s." 9.75 x 7.75, good condition.
B) Framed broadside asking for financial contributions to the hydraulic miners' cause issued by the Hydraulic Miners' Association of California in Auburn. There are some ink blots on this broadside, but it is otherwise in good condition. Frame is 9.25 x 13.25.
C) Framed issue of "The Hydraulic Miner: Communication Organ of the California Hydraulic Mining Association." This is Vol. 2, No. 11 from March 1941 in Grass Valley. Wooden frame is 13.25 x 11.25, good condition.
D) Framed billhead from the Empire Foundry, Manufacturers of Hoskin's Giants and Deflectors in Marysville, CA from 1897. Billhead has a illustration of a Hoskin Giant, a piece of hydraulic mining equipment, in the top left-hand corner. Wooden frame is 12.5 x 10, good condition.
E) Three framed pages related to the Hendy Hydraulic Giant made by the Joshua Hendy Iron Works in San Francisco. These are pages 2, 3, and 4 and were originally from a publication of some kind. The pages have illustrations and informational text about the hydraulic giant. Black frames are 9.5 x 12, good condition. City: State: Date: c. 1880s-1940s
