This is a two page letter written on stationary for the superintendent of the Contention Consolidated Mining Company. Dateline Tombstone, Arizona Territory, November, 1882. The two page letter is written by Isaac B James. Isaac James was an important mining man working in Arizona who got his start in the Sierra Nevada's. Mr. James got to start on the Comstock Lode in the early 1870s as a surveyor and working with the Belcher, Crown Point and other mines. He completed the survey for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad among other important surveys. He was superintendent of the Yellow Jacket and the Sierra Nevada mines, as well as the Contention Mine at Tombstone. Includes historic information. City: Tombstone State: Arizona Date: 1882 ID# 37576
