In 1931 Nevada legalized gambling. The Palace Club was one of the first Nevada clubs to begin to offer gaming. This archive of seven boxes and several ledgers traces that early gaming history in Reno, Nevada. The earliest document (that we found doing a cursory check) was a 1926 title of insurance. There is also a 1928 lawsuit, information on the Cord automobile, 1940 remodel specifications, etc. But the real meat of this archive are the daily gaming sheets from the 30's. They show how the Faro, Roulette, Craps, Chuck Luck, Big Six, Poker, etc. games did day-by-day. There are also thousands (10,000's) of receipts and check stubs. Add to this the boxes of correspondence and billheads (local and Bay Area) and this is one of the most important and extensive early gaming collections we have ever had!
