Choice square nail constructed wood incline car with hand carved wood axles. 31" long, 18" wide, 19" tall at the highest point. This is an incline car, so the box is cut at an approximate 45 degree angle, which may have been the angle of the winze it was used in. This is a fine antique, not many still exist. Metal straps reinforced the top lips and back side. Shows heavy wear from use. The loop used to attach to a rope or cable was made with an old horse shoe. Pollock Collection. this is the oldest artifact in the Pollock Collection and the owner believes it came from the early days of the Lincoln mine, c1858-1860.
