Handwritten 13 x 8 inch indenture document binding innkeeper John Richards and Benjamin Markely, a blacksmith, to Sarah Hollenstein for 500 pounds in gold and silver coin in Pennsylvania. Dated June 17, 1786, Richards and Markley, from Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania are bound to Sarah Hottenstein of Cumru Township, Berkes County, the widow and administratrix of the estate of William Hottenstein. They owe her 500 pounds in gold and silver coin. Details of conditions are further explained in the rest of the document.
