Lieutenant-General Sheridan's report (right after Little Big Horn) of a Reconnaissance of the Bighorn Mountains and the Valleys of the Bighorn and Yellowstone (Country North of the Union Pacific Railroad) under his personal supervision during the month of July, 1877. The report is written in a personal manner with detailed descriptions. "The trip was made as easily as possible to make it at present, yet it was a very hard one, especially upon the personnel of the party. The animals fared much better..." This booklet contains beautiful large fold-out maps and sketches of the various areas discussed in the report. It is in good condition. No reference to Custer or Little Big Horn.
