This lot contains a great number of ceremonial clothing items from the IOOF lodge #10 a closed lodge of Hamilton, Montana. The clothing would have been used in the annual grand encampments. A good number of photos have been taken, however THE PHOTOS DO NOT NECESSARILY SHOW THE ENTIRE LOT. The lot contains robes and accessories for the IOOF lodge and the Charity Rebekah Lodge as well. The IOOF is a fraternal and sorority organization based on FLT (friendship, love, and truth). This lodge was patented in 1887 with A. Mean as GM from 1887-1888. Fraternal and sorority organizations were prevalent in the past when men and women needed help before the advent of social security.
Robes: fuchsia in color with gold trim 1) marked "Noble Grand" with leggings 2) marked "NG Sup" , 2 caps.
Robes: blue marked "V.G. Sup" with one pair leggings; "Guard" with 2 sets of leggings, 3) blue robe with pants.
Military uniforms in black: 3 overcoats in black marked "MONT." on the collars. 1 overcoat in black without "Mont."

1 large box of china: 1 ceramic plate marked IOOF 48, about 20 ceramic coffee cups marked IOOF 48, 7 metal enameled plates and 5 metal enameled coffee cups.
This lot then represents the living history of Montana before cellphones and wall phones, before television and electricity, before the automobile, and before social security. It was a simpler time when friends meant the difference between survival or wearing a dirt shirt. And they didn't need to lock the front door; cause neighbors were always welcome. There are 26 bankers boxes, several large boxes of costumes, an estimated 32 cubic feet.
