Three key Inyo documents and covers. Two Cerro Gordo cancelled covers without the stamps. One shows the cancel pretty clearly, with a double ring. Listed in Williams as an R4. Dated 1881. Both covers are addressed to two New Mexico mining camps: Silver City and Hillsboro. I've worked in both and have lots of stories. fh
The third piece is an illustrated letter sheet from Reward, just down the mountain from Cerro Gordo. Date 1912. Gold Mining at Reward got a good start by the 1880s, and continued off and off for fifty years, restarted again in the 1980s. [ Inyo California
