Measures 7 1/2" by 4 1/2." With mounting measures 8 1/4" by 5." It has foxing on the edges and the corners show wear. The photograph's focus is sharp and the contrast is high. There are some areas of foxing. This rustic town had a hotel and restaurant. The patrons and workers are lined up on the porches. There are only two women and three children among all the men posing here. Two of the children are female. Pasted to the back of the mounting is a chromolithograph by Kurz and Allison titled "On the Battleship Iowa - Surrender of Admiral Cervera," copyrighted in 1898. His surrender took place during the Spanish-American War of 1898. Kurz and Allison were famous for their commemorative prints of historical events. Collectors are getting two for the price of one here.
