# 16 for 100 shares to Carrie B Beruch. Signed by Charles A McNair and president SS Saphum. Dateline St. Louis 1886. Incorporated June 1885. Not cancelled. peaceful valley vignette with steam train running through the middle. Levinson & Blythe printers. Nicks at fold edges. Heavy folds. Otherwise no apparent issues. "At the rate work has been going on for several months the ironclad tunnel will be completed about July 1st. It will cost about $18,000 and is purely a venture out of which the owners will get nothing if mineral is not found, but on the other hand if the tunnel strikes the mineral vein the question as to the profit of deep mining at Kingston will be set at rest. The end of the tunnel will be about 700 feet below the surface so that the expense of hoisting will be saved on all ore taken out above the tunnel level." [Engineering and Mining Journal, February 15, 1890] Since we found no other information on this mine, we assume it is the former! Ken Prag Collection
