(2) letters of correspondence from the J.F. Seiberling & Co. farm equipment company. John Francis Seiberling was an inventor, who had over 150 patents in the US Patent office. His company manufactured the Excelsior Reaper, Mower and dropper lines of farm equipment. The Excelsior brand failed in 1873. In 1888, J.F. Seiberling was credited with practically building the Akron Street Railway. He was also heavily invested in the silver mining areas of Idaho, Nevada and California. Mr. Seiberling and his wife had (9) children, one of whom (Frank A. Seiberling) later founded the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron. [
