This is a collection of letters written to J.L. Holland, a man involved in the mining industry. Holland was involved with the San Francisco and New Mexico Mining Company, possibly as a superintendent or owner. He traveled between Nevada City, California and Silver City, New Mexico where the mine was located. This collection contains correspondence from colleagues about his mining interests. There is also correspondence from his family members. In addition to letters, there are some postal covers, telegrams, letterheads, billheads, and newspaper clippings in this collection. Approximately 300+ letters total. Many hours could be spent reading the correspondence of this California mining man. All letters are contained in three legal-size folders. Good condition.
