2 rare JT Gove, Utah Assay Office, Helena, Montana billheads for 1888 assay receipts of gold and silver. Assays for EJ Carter.

We have never offered anything from this assay office before! Jacob Gove advertised “Fifteen Years’ Practical Experience in Utah, Colorado and Nevada.” Gove first came to Helena as a miner, and circa 1884 he built a two-story gable front-and-wing house on Spencer Street Alley. Gove was one of the incorporators of the Jumbo Mining Company in 1890. It is unclear where he worked in the other Western states.
