This lot contains 15 volumes pertaining to fighting ships of the world, merchant vessels of the world, as well as aircraft of the world. All volumes are blue cloth covered with worn corners and yellowing paper. All are generally in very good condition and make for great reference materials. All ships are displayed in silhouette profile to aid in identification. These volumes in part, were to identify ships by their construction in accordance to the treaty of 1936 limiting participating nations to size of armament and quantity of ships built after world war 1. Interestingly it was Great Britain and the USA that had difficulty coming to agreement on specifics of the treaty. In the air; two volumes of aircraft are covered with a briefing of war activities of 1942. Interesting reading with a chapter on aircraft engines. The volume 1965-1966 includes parts for the space program as well. The merchant marine volumes help to identify ships by flag design, shape, and also identify specifically German aircraft. Remember, these people lived in fear of the Germans without any defense. Volumes of fighting ships: 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1942, 1943-44, 1944-45, 1946-47, 1951-52, 1953-54.Two volumes of merchant ships: 1936, 1942. Two volumes of aircraft: 1942, 1965-1966.
