This token is technically a "storecard" since is has no monetary denomination. The manufacture style of this token indicates a later style of manufacture. This is a ranching community in Elko County, that did not have a post office until December, 1918. The name "Jiggs" did not come into common use until 1919. The first sign of any bar or saloon in advertising was in 1952, when Andy Echevarrieta, a Basque rancher, opened the Jiggs bar. He ran it until March 25, 1962 when a robber shot and killed him and George Davis in the bar. A couple was arrested a few days later, recovering the murder weapon. The Jiggs Saloon was not popularized until 1973, and only once in newspapers. Nevada Token Book co-author Len Hoskins was a "technician" for Nevada Fish & Game, and c1959-1965 worked the Jiggs area, according to newspaper reports. It is entirely possible that Mr. Hoskins, an old friend and now long gone, found these tokens, perhaps made by and for Mr. Echevarrieta, probably a friend of Hoskins. Pop in 1990: 11.
