John F. Kennedy Presidential Inauguration Lot. 1. Original Invitation to the January 20th, 1961 Inauguration of the President. The invitation is 12.75" x 9.875" folded horizontally in half, printed only on the front 1/2 page (6.375 x 9.875") It reads: "The Honor of your presence is requested at the ceremonies attending the Inauguration of the President and Vice President of the United States January 20, 1961. John Sparksman, Chairman, Carl Hayden, Styles Bridges, Sam Rayburn, John W. McCormack, Charles A. Halleck, Committee on Arrangements. Please present the enclosed card of admission." The Presidential seal is printed on top of the front page. Enclosed inside the folded invitation are single page, sepia toned, portrait photographs of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson with autographs (printed on heavy cardstock and protected with original tissue paper). 2. Inauguration Ceremonies Program printed in similar format but folded spine is bound with red, white and blue ribbon and front cover page has gold embossed seal. Cover of program enclosed 2 full pages, also folded horizontally and bound. Inside pages 8.75" x 11.5". Printed by U.S. Government Printing Office: 1960. 3. Original Invitation/Program Blank Envelope, with "Congress of the United States" printed on top left corner. 4. Typed letter dated October 11, 1961, on printed stationary page from William M. (Fish bait) Miller, Doorkeeper, House of Representatives, U.S. Office of the Doorkeeper, Washington, D. C. Letter is addressed to Mr. Al Wilke of New Orleans and indicates how fortunate Mr. Miller was to find a souvenir program from President Kennedy's First Inauguration. Also mentions the imminent passing of Speaker, Honorable Sam Rayburn. Original signature of William M. Miller. Letter is folded in half. All pieces are in mint condition.
